About the designer

Hans J. Wegner started off as an architect in 1938 and eventually started designing furniture for the Arhus city hall in 1940. He collaborated with Johannes Hansen, and their unique designs became the backbone of Danish furniture design and were the main reasons for Danish design’s popularity in the 1950s and 60s.
